本作は、ウルトラマンジードとウルトラマンベリアルの関係性を、「対立」ではなく「連続性」という視点で表現した作品です。
画面手前のジード、奥のベリアルという構図によって、現在と過去、結果と起源という時間の重なりが表現されています。両者は同じ方向を向いており、善と悪、光と闇といった単純な二項対立ではなく、ジードがベリアルという起源を受け継いだ上で成立する存在であることを示しています。
本作には、「過去を否定しないこと」「自分の中の矛盾を抱えたまま前へ進むこと」、そして「受け継いだものを再定義すること」というテーマを込めました。それはジードとベリアルの物語だけでなく、親から受け継いだ価値観や環境、過去の失敗と向き合いながら生きる私たち自身の姿でもあります。
