Musical instruments can be seen as tools to create music, but I think they themselves are wonderful works of art that have accompanied us through history. Blindness is also often associated with Biwa hōshi(琵琶法師) and musicians of the era as well, which I found very interesting. Despite their disability, they have mastered music and become renown for their telling of the Tale of the Heike (平家物語), a historical epic of war and conflict. I thought it would be interesting to capture their role alongside the beauty of their instruments in a creative way.
