ウルトラマンとともに怪獣たちもまた、単なる「敵キャラクター」の枠を超え、名前や姿が広く知られる存在となり、日本を代表するキャラクター文化の一つとして、多くの人々に親しまれてきました。
ウルトラマンによって大衆文化の中に広がっていった怪獣たちに着目し、POP ARTの視点から新たな表現へと再構築。
POP ARTは、日常の中に存在する身近なイメージや、大衆文化を象徴するキャラクターを作品として取り上げることで、それまでとは異なる価値や見え方を生み出してきた表現です。
誰もが知る怪獣たちを、色彩やグラフィック、反復などの表現によってアートとして再提示することで、世代を超えて愛されてきたキャラクターの新たな魅力を引き出します。
・ポップな色彩と不気味さの共存、愛される怪獣像
鮮やかでフラットなカラーパターンに統一し、全体をポップな印象に仕上げました。
この明るい色彩表現は、怪獣の持つ「得体の知れない不気味さ」を逆説的に浮き彫りにしています。
