ABOUT EVENTS

The art scene is constantly evolving.

Coinciding with the opening of the Osaka-Kansai Expo in 2025, OSAKA INTERNATIONAL ART 2025 will debut as a global art fair aiming to expand Osaka’s role in the international art market. In collaboration with embassies and consulates from around the world, the fair will showcase a diverse range of works—from contemporary and modern art to antiques, crafts, and digital collectives—gathering them under one roof at Osaka-jo Hall.

As Osaka positions itself as an international cultural tourism hub, this event marks a major step toward that vision.

ORIHARA is an artist who has worked as an image director for modern cultural icons such as Ado, consistently exploring the theme of “contemporary human imagery” through visual expression. Combining elements of mystique, fragility, and elegance with sharp gazes and layered shadows, ORIHARA has developed a distinctive style that resonates with the spirit of the times.

Description:

eye

I poured all of my origins into this piece.
I painted it with everything that feels most like me—everything I never want to lose, now or in the future.

Another

This outfit was made to fight.
I designed it to keep believing in the beauty and strength I hold dear.
I named it “Another” because I wanted it to be passed on—not just for me, but for someone else out there.
Just like the girls I’ve drawn here, I hope someone in the world who needs it will find this outfit.

narcissism

Title: narcissism

Price: ¥220,000 (tax included)

Description:

I want to be a compassionate person—someone who shows kindness and can be forgiven.
But whenever I try to care for others, I always end up confronting my own self-love.
It makes me wonder: is there really anyone who can truly care for others without it reflecting back on themselves?
Is it even right for love—whether for others or for oneself—to exist like a mirror image?

With that question in mind, I decided to create a pair of artworks centered around altruism and self-love.
I chose similar materials and output methods for both pieces, and created them as counterparts to one another.

Description:

I want to become a compassionate person—a version of myself that is kind, and beautiful in spirit.
But whenever I try to care for others, I inevitably arrive at self-love.
It makes me wonder: is there truly anyone who can wholeheartedly care for someone else?
Perhaps love—whether for others or for oneself—is meant to exist like a reflection in a mirror.

With that question in mind, I decided to create a pair of artworks exploring the themes of altruistic love and self-love.
I used similar materials and output methods to express this mirrored relationship in the pieces.

Title: I

Price: ¥220,000 (tax included)

Description:

When I reflected on the nature and direction of my own anger, I remembered how often it was aimed at the world or society at large.
Even though I was aware of how irrational it could be, that anger was a driving force behind my creativity.

At one point, I thought I had to outgrow it and let it go—but now, I’ve chosen to create "I" as a way to acknowledge that unreasonable anger within myself.

Using the concept of a mirror, I painted this piece with the feeling of confronting my own reflection, as if locked in a staring match with myself.

Price: ¥220,000 (tax included)

Description:

When I stay in the same place for too long, I begin to feel as if a kind of impurity builds up within me.
Being surrounded by the same people, the same community, the same way of thinking, the same life—over time, everything starts to feel dull and stained, and I’m left with a growing anxiety: is there any way to break free from that?

To cleanse myself of that stagnation, I gave myself the name ORIHARA.
As I reflected on that moment from six years ago, I created this artwork.
