Based on "Fatal Fury 2," this is the third installment of the series, featuring many new elements and adjustments, including increased game speed and the introduction of combo attacks. In addition to the same 8 playable characters from the previous game, the CPU-only Three Krauser's Lieutenants and Wolfgang Krauser became playable. Furthermore, Duck King, Tung Fu Rue, and Geese Howard from the original "Fatal Fury" joined the roster, bringing the total to 15 characters. There was also a surprise appearance by Ryo Sakazaki from "Art of Fighting" as a hidden character.
