With over 1 million Instagram followers, GUWEIZ will participate in his first major art fair in Japan: OSAKA INTERNATIONAL ART 2025 (OIA). Collaborating with GAAAT's 2.5D art 'Metal Canvas Art,' GUWEIZ's fantasy world will appear in physical space. Experience an immersive fusion of the digital and real at Osaka-Jo Hall.

Coinciding with the opening of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, OSAKA INTERNATIONAL ART 2025 is launching as an international art fair to expand Osaka's role in the art market and boost global art business. Created in collaboration with embassies and consulates from various countries, the event brings together a wide range of artworks—from contemporary and modern to traditional, crafts, and digital collectives—at Osaka-Jo Hall.
This marks the first-ever large-scale art fair in Osaka, as it aims to become an international hub for culture and tourism.

Description:
I started the initial draft with the intention of illustrating a scene that could create a sense of wonder and awe in the viewer’s mind, while making use of the large expansive canvas size. However, it was hard to conceptualize something that struck the right balance between being relatable and fantastical while allowing room for details. After several iterations, I decided to draw upon many architectural and cultural elements of modern and ancient Japan, uniting them under a clear and bright sky. In a way, I wanted to show through this my deep appreciation for the many kind people from Japan who have supported my work.

It is a personal goal of mine to keep drawing and keep on reaching upwards. Because of that, I really liked the pose and found the motivation to finally complete this detailed composition. I hope you will have a wonderful time watching a world be born around this character.

I’m the kind of person who dreams quite a bit in my sleep, but as an artist I quite rarely delve into more abstract themes. However, it has been something that I have always wanted to try. Since this was an especially good opportunity to make use of the Metal Canvas medium to bring this type of concept to life, I aimed to create a scene that is beautiful and rich in tactile detail much like a lucid dream.

Description:
Musical instruments can be seen as tools to create music, but I think they themselves are wonderful works of art that have accompanied us through history. Blindness is also often associated with Biwa hōshi(琵琶法師) and musicians of the era as well, which I found very interesting. Despite their disability, they have mastered music and become renown for their telling of the Tale of the Heike (平家物語), a historical epic of war and conflict. I thought it would be interesting to capture their role alongside the beauty of their instruments in a creative way.
