Imitation—or connection?
The event is organized by “GAAAT,” Tokyo-based art brand with global presence following the theme of Pop culture x Art. Under official license, all artworks are limited editions with a certificate of authenticity, representing dynamic and iconic scenes from the “Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX” anime series as official metal canvas artworks.
Following its acclaimed overseas debut in 2025, the event now comes to Japan.

Timeless beauty. A tactile visual experience.
Metal Canvas Art (MCA) is GAAAT’s original creation. Using a high-durability metal base and proprietary printing method, each artwork retains its vivid form indefinitely—maintenance-free.
By leveraging proprietary data design and multi-layer UV coating technology, we achieve vibrant color expression and intricate surface textures. The three-dimensional texture, which changes its appearance depending on the angle of light, transforms once-flat digital artwork into a piece with depth and dimension, elevating it into a new kind of art experience.
The Making of Metal Canvas Art
32-Layer Design
Data design by a dedicated team
Up to 32 data layers are stacked on a single digital artwork file using proprietary technology, creating reliefs of up to 1mm. Guided by the artistic intent and visual impact of the original, a team led by the art director determines where and how to construct depth. The result transforms flat digital content into art with dimension and presence.
Metal Canvas
Durability and unique texture from metal material
The use of metal canvas resists humidity and aging, maintaining high durability. Industrial materials not typically used in fine art add boldness and allow long-lasting brilliance—an innovation in the realm of physical artwork.
Specialized Color Layering Technology
Close-up View
Multiple UV ink layers are built up using proprietary methods to achieve vivid colors and detailed textures with millimeter precision. These reliefs reflect light differently depending on angle, delivering a dynamic and tactile experience unique to MCA.
Strict Quality Control
Every piece is thoroughly quality-checked by expert artisans and finished with no compromises. Each artwork is then framed to become a one-of-a-kind Metal Canvas Art (MCA) piece.
The year is 2030. The advent of cyberbrains and cybernetic bodies has given rise to new forms of crime, and Public Security Section 9 was estabilished to fight back. But they will be drawn into the labyrinthine case that stretches back to before Section 9 even existed.. Known as S.A.C. for short. This was the first Ghost in the Shell TV series. Director Kenji Kamiyama produced 26 episodes. Set in the year 2030, S.A.C. takes place in a parallel world to Oshii's anime -- one in which Motoko did not merge with the Puppet Master. In 2005, the \Laughing Man\story arc that makes up the core of this series was compiled into a release called Stand Alone Complex: The Laughing Man (run time: approx. 2 hrs 40 mins).
A New Dimension of Emotion Through Art
GAAAT is an art brand that expands the expression and experience of IP content into new dimensions through the power of art and technology. By combining proprietary technology with creative innovation, we transform the depth of narratives and emotions into immersive spatial and experiential forms, redefining the potential of IP as art.
Our works are presented through white-cube gallery exhibitions and international touring shows, reaching fans and art collectors around the world. By reimagining the relationship between IP and art, we are creating a new market where powerful emotional experiences continue to resonate and evolve.
